The intake team conversation is for learning about Summit, scheduling, offices, and process. It is not an attorney consultation or legal advice.

Prepared advice and direction

Why consultations require a fee.

Our consultations are purposeful working sessions. We listen for what matters to you, identify the questions beneath the immediate problem, and help you begin building a direction forward.

That is why we charge for attorney consultations: we come prepared to deliver considered advice, not a hurried first impression. The time is devoted to understanding your needs and looking for the best way Summit can help you move toward them.

A well-run consultation is a meaningful value in itself: clarity, a stronger starting point, and a plan that begins before the next step is taken.

Arrive prepared

Tell us what to prepare for your consultation.

No materials will be reviewed until Summit Family Law has completed a conflict check and confirmed that we are cleared to discuss your case with you.

If you already have a case on file, let us know the case number so we can pull the right file before we talk. If not, just tell us a bit about what brings you in.

Please share only information relevant to your consultation.

For the most useful preparation, send this once your paid consultation is booked.

When you need to meet in person

In person consultations begin with a phone call.

In person appointments are not self-scheduled online. Please call our office at (205) 519-3033. Our team will arrange the consultation and determine which Summit office you need to visit. After a virtual consultation, if an in person meeting would serve your matter, we can make that happen.

Good counsel starts by meeting you where you are.

Our virtual first process is personal, tested, and designed to give you a strong beginning.
