Jamie Taylor has over ten years of experience serving greater Kansas City, Missouri in family matters.

Jamie has served families like yours as a:

For my entire career, I have focused my work on representing individiuals, families, and children in legal matters.  Representing individuals and families during their most difficult days is challenging and rewarding work.  I pride myself of being upfront and clear about the legal process and your options as you navigate through the court system.  As my entire career has been dedicated to the practice of family law, I am familiar with the statutes, case law, and regulations which impact your family.  I pride myself on being able to see the "big picture" of how the court process will impact your family.

Much of my case load includes Guardian ad Litem appointments. A Guardian ad Litem is an attorney who is appointed to represent the best interests of the minor child where there is abuse and/or neglect of the minor child alleged.  I have been appointed by Judges in the State of Missouri as a Guardian ad Litem in many matters.  I have served as Guaridan ad Litem in Dissolutions, Modiciations, and Paternity matters.  I have also been appointed and served as Guardian ad LItem in Adoptions, Termination of Parental Rights Cases, and Child Abuse and Neglect Juvenile Court matters.  Prior case load also includes appointment to serve as Guardian ad LItem in probate matters such as Adult and Minor Guardianships and Conservatorships.

While appointments to serve as Guardian ad Litem can be challenging work, it can also be the most rewarding.  Serving as a Guardian ad Litem allows me to interact with the children that are most impacted by the Court orders.  In working with these children and advocating on behalf of their best interests I can give these young children a voice in a system in which their voice often remains unheard.

Jamie is a skilled mediator for domestic matters in Jackson and Cass County, Missouri.  Prior to most cases being set for trial the court requires the parties to come together to mediate the issues pending before the court.  Mediation is a part of my practice which I much enjoy, as it allows me to be creative thinking.   Whereas the court judgment and Judges are bound by rigid legal framework, mediation is an opportnity to think "outside the box" and offer creative solutions for a common ground for families.

While most mediations are completed as a result of pending court cases, I am approached for parties wanting to mediate outside of the Court process.  Some parents don't wish to engage in court intervention in their co-parenting relationships and mediation allows me to create and offer alternative solutions and framework for parents wishing to exist outside of the Court systems.
